MP Bob Zimmer Elected as BC/Yukon Conservative Caucus Chair
OTTAWA – Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies, will continue as chair of the BC/Yukon Conservative Caucus having been elected by acclamation.
This is the first time that regional caucus chairs have been elected, having previously been appointed directly by the leader of the Conservative Party.
“I am honoured and humbled to receive the confidence of my regional colleagues to continue on as chair of the BC/Yukon Conservative Caucus,” said Mr. Zimmer. “My colleagues and I will continue to provide a strong voice for the region and work hard to ensure that the interests of our region are heard.”
Mel Arnold, Member of Parliament for North Okanagan-Shuswap, has been elected vice-chair.
“I would also like to offer my congratulations to Mel Arnold on his election as vice-chair and I look forward to working with him,” said Mr. Zimmer.
Mr. Zimmer was first appointed chair of the BC/Yukon Conservative Caucus by the former prime minister in October 2013.
